Everything you know about a client, before the call

Your business already remembers. The trouble is that the memory is spread across mailboxes, spreadsheets, notes and a database, and no one person holds all of it.

The problem, stated plainly

The retainer changed in March. The reason is in a call note. The person who knew both left in June. When a client rings, somebody spends twenty minutes reconstructing the last year from three inboxes, and still walks in missing the one thing that mattered.

Every AI tool you own has the same difficulty in a worse form. It starts from nothing every morning, because nobody has given it what happened here before.

What Skein does

You point it at what you already have. A folder of documents, an email export, a spreadsheet, or your live database. It reads the structure, works out who the clients are and which records belong to whom, and answers one question properly:

Tell me everything about this client before I walk into the room.

The answer is a page. Not a dashboard, not a search box, not a diagram of dots and lines. A page you could hand to somebody who has never seen the software.

A brief, as it actually prints
Cedarline Periodontics
6 open, 2 overdue · last activity today
Terms $2,800/month · was $2,400/month until 27 March 2026
Figures $2,800/month, from the engagement letter
Late Rebuild the new patient landing page · Amara Boateng · overdue since 14 August
People Amara Boateng, Tobias Renwick
Moved Scope change agreed, one month ago
Unknown 2 of the 6 open promises have no due date, so they cannot be reported as late

That last line is the part we are proudest of. Skein tells you what it does not know. Nothing else in this market does, because admitting a gap looks like weakness until the first time a confident answer turns out to be wrong in front of a client.

How it gets there

Three things that make it different

It never copies your database

Ten million invoices do not become ten million records inside Skein. They become one summary per client and a pointer back to the rows, which stay where they are. The totals are real, counted over every row. In the largest migration we have measured, fifteen million of the fifteen point seven million rows cost three seconds between them, because they are summarised inside the database and never leave it.

Nothing leaves your machine, and no AI is called

Skein reads structure: column names, foreign keys, mail headers, dates. It makes no calls to any model, so there is no per-record cost, no invented facts, and nothing sent to anybody. It runs on your own hardware, offline if you like. A test fails the build if any module capable of opening a network connection becomes reachable from the importer.

It remembers what a thing used to be

When the retainer changes, the old figure is not overwritten. It is marked as having ended, so the brief can say $2,800 a month, and it was $2,400 until March. Most systems can only tell you what is true now, which is no help at all when the question is what you agreed and when.

What we have measured

15,699,911source rows indexed on one laptop
2.2 minthe whole first import
0.12 sre-index when nothing has changed
194 MBpeak memory, flat from 250k to 4M rows
5 msto search 1,009,300 records in a browser
ZeroAI calls, and zero data sent anywhere

Every one of those is reproducible from a command in the product's own repository. Where a number is a projection rather than a measurement, we say so on the same line.

What it costs

Install
$9,500 once
About two weeks. Fitted to your business, two sources connected, wired into the AI tools you already use, one training session.
Build
$24,000 once
Five sources, a structure built around how your business actually works, and the console branded as yours.
Operate
$1,500–4,000 / month
Hosting, monitoring, schema evolution as the business changes, and a quarterly review.

Start with Install even if you can afford Build. It ends with a real brief on your own clients, and you will know within a fortnight whether the rest is worth having.

What we do not have yet

No SOC 2 certification and no HIPAA agreement. For an install where your data never leaves your own machine, the security question is about your building rather than ours. That is a fair argument and it is not a certificate, so if your industry requires one, we are not ready for you yet and we would rather say so now.

Matching up names is genuinely hard. Everyone in this field claims to have solved it and nobody has. We put the doubtful ones in a list and ask you, which we have measured as more accurate than deciding automatically.

Common questions

Does it replace anything I already pay for?

No. It sits beside your existing systems and reads them. Nothing is migrated, nothing is switched off, and if you stop using Skein your data is exactly where it was.

What happens to my data if we part ways?

It is yours and it never was ours. One command writes the whole graph out in an open, documented format that any tool can read without our software.

How long until it is useful?

The first brief comes out of the first import, usually the same afternoon. The two weeks are spent making it right rather than making it exist.
